BEAUTY OF ARUNACHAL (Tezpur 1N – Dirang 1N – Tawang 3N – Bomdila 1N – Guwahati 2N ) (NPH)
This 8-night/9-day Arunachal Pradesh Monastic Circuit package focuses on a demanding yet rewarding high-altitude journey, primarily covering the scenic West Kameng and Tawang districts, bookended by stays in Assam. Starting in Guwahati, the tour quickly transitions to the mountainous terrain of Arunachal Pradesh, passing through Tezpur (known for its cultural sites like Agnigarh) and then climbing to the serene, low-altitude valley of Dirang (featuring the Dirang Dzong and Hot Springs). The main highlight is the three-night stay in Tawang, which is reached after crossing the breathtaking Sela Pass (13,700 ft) and includes an exploration of the historically significant Tawang Monastery (the second-largest in the world), high-altitude glacial lakes, and the War Memorial. The descent is managed with a stop in Bomdila (known for its monastery and panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks) before concluding with a final stay in the gateway city of Guwahati, which often features a spiritual visit to the Kamakhya Temple.
